- Some sad news has hit the anime world. Scriptwriter and wife of director Mitsuo Fukuda, Chiaki Morosawa, passed away on February 19 due to aortic dissection.
- Her death was first revealed by Hirokatsu Kihara, who tweeted saying that Sunrise had contacted him directly and told him the news. This was later confirmed by Gundam's official information site.
- Chiaki Morosawa contributed greatly to the Gundam series, writing the screenplays and taking charge of series composition for many of the anime television series and OVAs, and contributing to the creation of the Gundam Seed Re: manga.
