Synopsis
The year is 2025.
Kikou, an previously-unknown threat, suddenly appears and launches an attack on humanity, leaving many cities helplessly destroyed and humanity in the midst of a dilemma. However, on discovering some Kikou wreckage in Japan, the Tokyo Kikou Research Facility is established, and starts to research how to use Kikou as weapons. Fight fire with fire, fight Kikou with Kikou - this was humanity’s one and only hope.
Nine years later.
Muttsu, the main Kikou which has been developed using the discovered wreckage, will soon be stepping into their first real battle. The two chosen pilot candidates, young man Rin Sagami and young woman Yuzuru Midou, will boldly face their mission, all whilst shouldering the massive burden of being the only hope for humanity’s future.
However, what awaited them was too cruel a fate...
