- It has been revealed that the creator and director of the Macross series, Shouji Kawamori, has a new anime project in the works.
- Titled THE NEXT, it is based on, "[A] world where the contours of humans and machines are obscure. Destruction, Destruction, Destruction, and Creation. [Fighting] and existential war."
