[en]What You Need to Know: [/en][es]Lo que necesitas saber: [/es]

  • During a night celebrating the video games of the past year, fans watching The Game Awards got a sneak preview of several exciting new experiences coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in the near future.
  • A trailer revealed that a new entry in SQUARE ENIX’s Bravely series, Bravely Default II, is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2020. From the same team behind the Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler games, Bravely Default II is a successor to the original Bravely Default game and will have players embark on a new story in a new world, featuring all-new Heroes of Light. The game will also feature music by Revo (Sound Horizon/Linked Horizon), composer of the Bravely Default soundtrack.
  • Additionally, a new trailer for No More Heroes 3, the latest entry in the No More Heroes series from developer Grasshopper Manufacture, unveiled that the game is launching for Nintendo Switch in 2020. After the official numbered series’ 10-year hiatus, the “assassin action game” is back featuring the all-American No. 1 ranked assassin, Travis Touchdown. This time, the otaku assassin must face off against some super hardcore enemies from space with his beloved Beam Katana in hand.
  • Several new details about the upcoming MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order DLC Pack 2 – X-Men: Rise of the Phoenix content were also unleashed in a new trailer. On Dec. 23, four more X-Men join the alliance – Phoenix, Gambit, Iceman and Cable – with the purchase of the MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order Expansion Pass. The DLC pack will also introduce the newly added Danger Room mode, where two to four players* will compete to see who can take down the most bosses while being barraged by buffs and de-buffs. Owners of the MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order game can purchase the Expansion Pass at a suggested retail price of $19.99 to receive all of this content when it releases on Dec. 23. The Expansion Pass also includes the previously released Marvel Knights: Curse of the Vampire DLC Pack 1 and the upcoming DLC Pack 3, which will release in spring 2020. Newly added costumes for a number of playable characters will also be added to MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order via a free update on Dec. 23.

    Discussion Time

Chapter 159 of Yakusoku no Neverland has finally given us the line we needed to hear, the queen is confirmed dead. Even luckier, Zazie—the guy who dealt the first major blow to the queen—is in pain but quite alive! Joy is finally filling our survivors’ hearts and despite the worry that the demon realm is going to erupt in chaos at the loss of the tyrannical queen, Sonju knows things might work out. Emma still made a promise to the unknown demon lord and that could mean humans/demons will forever be apart but Mujika believes this won’t change the world in a negative way. Emma tries to get Sonju—who was a royal blood demon—to be the next king but he knows that task is impossible. His betrayal is known far and wide, no one would respect him or believe in his words. Mujika plans to cool the flames of rebellion slowly but as if demons are doing it without human aid to avoid unnecessary conflict. With some gratitude spread around, our kids leave to make their next move and protect their home. Our demons seem to have a major plan but we’re left unaware as the reader to what those specifics are. However, our kids know that one final threat does exist and that is the leader of the Ratri clan, Peter Ratri himself. One final showdown seems to be encroaching on us but this major battle will have to wait till early December! Till the fated day of our next big chapter, we should go into why reading chapter 159 of Yakusoku no Neverland is absolutely necessary!

Why You Should Read Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) Chapter 159
    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="viz" url="https://www.viz.com/read/manga/promised-neverland-volume-14/product/6212" ]

    1. Kindness Goes a Long Way

Yakusoku no Neverland has always established that demons and humans are enemies. However, as the series gave us two kind demons, we realized that what mattered the most was the kindness shared between friends. Our good demons and kids have gone their separate ways but their actions have proved no culture is above creating bonds. All it sometimes takes is a nice helping of kindness to pave the way for a new path in life.

    2. Two Plans, One Goal

Our survivors are on the move again and while they both have different plans—one being unknown on the demon end—their goal is the same. This rotten world within Yakusoku no Neverland has gone on too long and change needs to come! Emma, Ray and Norman have a path to take to save their kin and so do our demon friends. However, as different as their plans might be, their goal is the same and that finish line is what we can’t wait to see from this incredible series!

    Final Thoughts

Yakusoku no Neverland 159 was a chapter full of love, kindness, and gratitude. As sappy as it might sound, this is something that the series desperately needed for our main characters. Throughout the entirety of Yakusoku no Neverland, it seemed as our survivors were forced to endure close calls, horrible loss, and pain from failure. Finally, our kids—and two kind demons—have won a much-needed victory and can finally make the big plays to save this fallen world. With several battles to come maybe the series isn’t at its end just yet. What do you readers think? Is Yakusoku no Neverland ending soon or will it be here for the New Year? Here's Why You NEED to Read Made in Abyss

    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="ZMCZ-11622" text="" url="" ]

Kinema Citrus’ 2017 anime adaptation of Made in Abyss is widely considered to be among the best shows of that year, as well as one of the best pure fantasy anime to come out in recent memory. But have you ever sat down to read the web manga on which it’s based? Akihito Tsukushi’s manga has been in continuous publication since 2012 and has reached 52 chapters in length, only 24 of which the anime has covered so far. Let’s delve deeper into this story to see what treasures we can unearth—this is why you NEED to read Made in Abyss!

    The Worldbuilding Is Top-Notch

The Abyss is a richly detailed fantasy realm with its own natural ecosystem, history, mythology, and a symbiotic relationship with the surrounding town of Orth at its entrance. Each layer hosts scores of unique plants and animals that possess clever survival mechanisms, such as the massive Corpse-Weeper birds that lure human prey by imitating the voices of their captured companions. The manga expands on this worldbuilding, primarily by introducing the Idofront research center on the 5th layer and the Village of Ilblu on the 6th. The mad scientist Bondrewd (who turned Nanachi and Mitty into Hollows) makes his home at Idofront, which Riko and Reg have to pass through in order to go deeper into the Abyss. We learn more about Nanachi’s history with the facility, meet Bondrewd’s peppy assistant Prushka, and finally discover who this scientist really is. Later, our adventurers reach the Village of Ilblu, an enclosed community home to hundreds of Hollows that have strange ideas about “value”. This place ties into Reg’s past and holds valuable secrets about the first delvers who ever ventured into the Abyss. It’s all so fascinating!

Tsukushi’s Art Is Unique and Creative

The anime’s art (especially the painted backgrounds) does an admirable job at capturing the essence of Tsukushi’s illustrations, but reading the manga is a completely different experience. The sketchy lines and soft shadows give the visuals a watercolor look, even in black and white. Clothes, creatures, and landscapes are heavily detailed, but not to the point of feeling cluttered. And on the rare occasion that Tsukushi blesses us with a color image, it’s a thing of beauty to behold. However, the unusual style makes the manga difficult to read quickly, so be sure to slow down and fully process the panels before moving on or you might miss something.

There’s Still So Much We Don’t Know

Even though the manga’s story is up to the 6th layer of the Abyss, there’s still no clear end in sight for Riko and Reg. We still don’t know the truth about Lyza, Reg’s full backstory, or what lies at the bottom of the Abyss. Joining the manga fandom now is a great way to engross yourself in the ongoing mysteries that everyone is still abuzz about!

    Final Thoughts

    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="NEOBK-2238758" text="" url="" ]

Made in Abyss has its flaws (the infrequent publication schedule being one of the most blatant), but its world is a gorgeously crafted wonderland of fantastical creatures that you’ll come back to over and over. Jump right in, you won’t regret it! What did you think of our overview? Have you ever read Made in Abyss? What mysteries do you want to know the answers to? Let us know in the comments, and thanks so much for reading!

In the 28th chapter of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den Daruma is finally in his human form and his young protégée watches with awe at his true master’s form. Daruma tells our young Hachimaru—who recognizes him from his favorite video game—that despite being in a more powerful body, his form still lacks the ability to go full power. Losing his princess and having a strange scar on his hand leaves Daruma with the ability to harness only a fraction of his power. Despite this, Daruma is still all too willing to beat down Ben and show him who has true power! Daruma wastes no time unleashing a bevy of special attacks and abilities leaving Ben reeling with each blow. As Hachimaru watches Daruma makes a powerful claim to his trainee. Daruma claims eventually Hachimaru will be even more powerful than he ever was and with that claim hits Ben with a truly wicked special move! As Ben is now unable to fix his form and is left in shambles he speaks of a truly cruel revelation. Unknown to Kotsuga, Ben apparently took him in after taking everything away from him! What did Ben actually remove from Kotsuga’s life? Next chapter will no doubt reveal that to us but we can honestly say this was an extremely intense and action packed chapter of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den! Here’s why you must read chapter 28 as soon as you can!

Why You Should Read Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den (Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru) Chapter 28
    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="viz" url="https://www.viz.com/blog/posts/shonen-jump-new-chapters-06-23-19" ]

    1. Master Indeed

Daruma has always been a powerful cat-master but in his human form the game has truly changed! Now with his true form unlocked—temporarily at least—Daruma can utilize special moves his cat form was unable to produce! Hachimaru has finally understood that Daruma is indeed deserving of being his master!

    2. Ben and Kotsuga

Earlier in Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den we learned that Kotsuga was taken in by Ben and this is why he betrayed his newfound friends. However, the big shock of chapter 28 is that Ben destroyed Kotsuga’s life before taking the boy in! What did Ben do to our young bandit who once dreamed of being a samurai himself? Let’s pray chapter 29 will tell us more of Kotsuga’s past!

    Final Thoughts

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den 28 shows us that Kishimoto truly has a penance for creating deep backstories for his created characters. Kotsuga seemed like just another doomed child taken in by the wrong guardian but now we know he was manipulated in following Ben! What’s worse is Ben took Kotsuga’s life away before making him into a pawn! We can’t wait to see that past in a bit more detail and we know you readers are shaking your heads in agreement. Are you guys/girls loving Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den? Comment below with your thoughts and be sure to keep reading our chapter reviews done by us here at Honey’s Anime!

    Discussion Time

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 251 was quick to jump right back into the turmoil of the previous chapter! Endeavor’s son Natsuo was kidnapped in chapter 250 by an evil villain named Ending. Endeavor seemed worried he couldn’t move fast enough to save his boy but our Bakugo wastes no time in launching himself forward with the others right behind him! Endeavor begins to fly at Ending but when he shows Natsuo still in his clutches our number one hero holds back. Shoto, though, isn’t about to bow down to Ending’s wish and launches an offense. Ending shows he has some control of various objects with his weird bandages and tries to launch several cars at Deku and the others but Deku proves he’s taken Endeavor’s lessons to heart. Launching into the sky, Deku uses his powers to stop the flying cars and allows Shoto to make a big play against Ending. Endeavor watches in shock that in only one week these three boys have proved they aren’t to be messed with! Natsuo is still in danger but our heroes are ready to save him. Will Endeavor make a move himself or will he let his pride/fears overcome him? Many questions for us readers of Boku no Hero Academia but the answers won’t come just yet. In the meantime, we should focus on breaking down why chapter 251 is a must-read as soon as you can!

Why You Should Read Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) Chapter 251

    1. Bakugo at the Ready!

Is anyone surprised that it wasn’t Endeavor to make the first move but Bakugo? Despite not even having his weapons/armor, Bakugo rushes past our heroes and goes right at Ending without a moment’s hesitation. As risky as this move was, it shows that our trainee heroes don’t wait…they move as heroes need to do!

    2. Shocked Endeavor

Endeavor was truly blown away this chapter it seems. While he held back in fear of hurting his son, his current underlings wasted no time to prove they are worthy of the hero title. What’s even more shocking is that our trainees have only been increasing their skills for a week and they’ve made such progress it’s almost scary. Endeavor was truly stunned this week but we readers aren’t surprised by the tenacity of our amazing trainee heroes!

    Final Thoughts

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 251 launched us right back into the fray and we loved every second! Endeavor’s son is still tied up and at the whims of Ending but our trainee heroes aren’t standing still. With all of their combined might, these young heroes are on the offense to save Endeavor’s son and Shoto’s brother. Can they beat Ending with no causalities? We shall know soon but in the meantime, comment below with your thoughts on this recent arc! Is it Worth Building a Digital Anime Library?

Those who consider themselves gamers have long struggled with the pains of deciding between digital or physical games. Having a physical library of games is truly incredible as you get to have a real-world cornucopia of games, but digital means your games will never perish as long as you have a means of downloading them via a digital medium. Anime fans have always been more focused on physical purchases—when they could afford it—but digital anime has still been an alternative thanks to some stores like Apple’s iTunes and Amazon. However, here’s the big question of the day: Is It Worth Building a Digital Anime Library? Today, we’ll examine the reasons why you should go digital and why it can be an easier alternative for collecting and amassing anime titles!

    Savings Galore

Easily one of the better elements of leaning towards a digital library is the savings one can net. Anime isn’t extremely expensive—unless it’s from a specific anime publisher who is pretty infamous for their prices—but digital anime is truly a bigger savings. iTunes is the best place to get a ton of anime movies for almost $10-$15 dollars cheaper than physical copies and some classic anime series can be found on Amazon for huge bargains! The reality is simple folks, those looking to save a buck will no doubt enjoy the realm of digital purchases.

    Anime on the Go!

Watching anime on a big TV or monitor never gets old but lugging around a 50 inch TV when you go on vacation or a business trip can be a bit…troublesome. That’s when digital anime comes into play! The beauty of digital downloads for anime series is that you can watch them on your phone, tablet, laptop and/or other portable devices. This makes watching anime even easier and so much more enjoyable. Unless you really want to bring a giant TV to your next family vacation. Pretty sure your parents won’t be too happy that you have gone from one house to another just glued to your favorite anime series.

    Secure and Organized

We’ve talked about collecting physical anime plenty of times in past articles but we’ve always made sure to mention the pain of keeping your anime library neat and organized. Buying shelves and organizing a series by year of release or alphabetically can be a true chore. Add to that the reality that physical anime could be misplaced, damaged by wear and tear and/or just lost due to negligence. Digital anime libraries don’t have these problems. Even if you accidentally delete a series or switch devices, you can often re-download an anime to another phone and have your device automatically organize a series in a smoother way. Neat and clean is always a good way to be when you’re an anime collector and the digital world allows that to be easier than the physical one.

Might Be the Way of the Future

As games are going more digital, anime could soon follow that trend in the later years. The reality of it is that digital media is always easier for companies to maintain—in terms of cost and value—versus the pains of physical releases. It might be hard to love digital anime but if publishers follow the examples of others, digital content might be the only way to enjoy newer series/movies.

    Final Thoughts

    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="NEOGDS-299827" text="" url="" ]

Physical anime collections—at the moment—still have more pros in comparison to digital anime libraries. At the moment, a lot of anime isn’t readily available to be downloaded and publishers still rely on releasing anime series/movies via the physical release. However, if digital anime becomes more readily available you can 100% bet it will have plenty of supporters who will show it could be a better alternative to physical anime in the future. Where do you readers stand in regard to physical anime versus digital anime? Do you feel it’s worth buying anime digitally? Let us know in the comments below your thoughts! Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den has shown a wide range of emotions in its nearly thirty chapter run. However, chapter 29 is where we get one of the most shocking stories of the series. Our story starts as we continue from last week’s big battle between Ben and Daruma. Despite being extremely tough and whittling Ben to half of his power, Daruma has run out of time on his transformation. Giving the reigns to the hesitant Hachimaru, Daruma unleashes his trainee’s key and reveals the past of Ben/Kotsuga to the samurai. In a desperate desire to see what Ben truly took from him, Kotsuga begs Hachimaru to sync up with him and allow him to see the story Hachimaru is learning. We then witness Kotsuga’s past and learn of how Ben truly took everything from him. Ben manipulated everything in Kotsuga’s life—who originally was named Sanda by his parents—and killed his mother, which in turn caused his father to die from losing his princess/wife and failing as a samurai. Ben changed Sanda’s name to Kotsuga and replaced loving concepts a kid should grow up knowing with those of greed, lust, and desire. Now privy to the past, Kotsuga begs Hachimaru to forgive his actions against the team and defeat Ben Hachimaru watches the once samurai and tells him that he still has his samurai heart which we can infer as him saying he will indeed help the thief! Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den chapter 29 has impressed us in a multitude of ways that we could review the chapter for hundreds of pages but we’ll keep our review short and give you two reasons you can’t pass up this integral chapter!

Why You Should Read Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den (Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru) Chapter 29
    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="viz" url="https://www.viz.com/blog/posts/shonen-jump-new-chapters-05-12-19" ]

    1. Once His Name Was Sanda

Daruma allowed our young Hachimaru to see Kotsuga’s past via his key and wow… that revelation wasn’t an easy thing to take in. We learned that Kotsuga was once named Sanda by a loving family who was manipulated behind the scenes by Ben. Kotsuga was born from Ben’s desire to take on a young apprentice and impart in him the darker ways of living to breed someone just like himself. Truly Ben, you’re an evil person and we’re pretty sure all of you out there reading will agree with this statement.

    2. Hachimaru, Your Turn

We knew full well that Daruma’s brief transformation back into his human form wasn’t going to last forever. What we didn’t expect was the form to end so quickly. Now Hachimaru is tasked with defeating Ben and while Ben might be weakened, he’s still far from a pushover. Does Hachimaru have enough strength to take up the task set by his master and unleash revenge for Kotsuga?

    Final Thoughts

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den 29 was incredible, that’s really what sums up our review. Kotsuga pulled a sneaky and cruel move by betraying his friends but seeing his past mired in darkness thanks to Ben has allowed us to forgive the thief. Now Hachimaru has to unleash a beat down on Ben and chapter 30 should be where said beat down occurs! In the meantime, comment below your thoughts about Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den 29 and why you liked or disliked it! Cat Lady | Steam Early Access Trailer | VIZ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fipN4Gah8lE&feature=emb_title

    Who it Caters to

The Binding of Isaac had to be one of the best examples of how to make an addictive indie roguelike work well. Many developers have tried desperately to recapture the frustrating but fun gameplay found in The Binding of Isaac and most have come close…but even more failed. Cat Lady by developer Rose City Games—and published by VIZ Media—takes a stab…or paw at the roguelike genre with Cat Lady. This precious and puurrfectly adorable game—expect several more cat puns in our review folks—looks adorable but is it the game for fans of titles like The Binding of Isaac? We find out in our Early Access game review of Cat Lady for PC!

    What to Expect

Cat Lady is a top down action title akin to games like The Binding of Isaac. Players assume the role of Ally Marie who has quite a dilemma to face. Her grandma’s estate has been overrun by monsters and now the only way Ally Marie can save this home is by utilizing a bunch of strange cats with powers. Use numerous cats as weapons—no cats are actually being hurt they just have mystical cat powers—to defeat these monsters and rid them from your grandma’s home! A cat-tastic adventure awaits in Cat Lady!
    [ad_top2 class="mt40 mb40"]

    Story

Excited to visit her grandma’s mansion, Ally Marie’s excitement turns a bit sour when she arrives in the cat filled home. Ally Marie’s grandma is nowhere to be found and via some strange event, various items in the home have become possessed turned into odd monsters! Thankfully, the cats have also been powered up and can both talk and use super cool cat-powers! Together, Ally Marie and the cat army will need to track down grandma and defeat these monsters by whatever means necessary! Can you harness your cat-like reflexes and take down these baddies in Cat Lady? Time to grab the catnip and show these monsters how scary an angry cat can be once they miss meal time!

    Gameplay

As far as indie roguelike titles go, Cat Lady is pretty simple. Players control the human Ally Marie who is blessed with an army of cats who have powers that can defeat the various baddies now in her grandma’s mansion. You’ll need to use a wide arsenal of cats to tackle Cat Lady’s numerous enemy variants and tough as nails bosses. The reason we keep talking about The Binding of Isaac is that like that title, Cat Lady is a twin stick shooter where death means losing most of your progress and the maps you went through change in format. Now that the simple premise is out of the way, let’s dive deeper into the Cat Lady and explain why this format works so well despite it seeming so similar other roguelikes. What makes Cat Lady so unique is the weapons you use…or lack of real weapons. In this strange cat-filled place your only arsenal lies in the now amped up cats. These supernatural talking cats—yes they talk don’t question why—can unleash numerous powers you’ll need against the monsters. Some cats can use ice to freeze your targets in place while others can shoot lightning that—while weak—chains to enemies dealing damage to not just one target. As you progress through the multiple layers of this seemingly never ending home, you’ll find other cats to cuddle with…we mean attack with that have other abilities. These cats will need to be utilized as the enemies in each floor begin to change and grow increasingly harder to take down. You can also find cat themed items to use as currency to unlock abilities and power ups to make your adventure that much easier…or at least manageable.
Now you might be wondering, where does the roguelike exist in Cat Lady? Well that comes from the tough as a cat’s tongue difficulty you’re going to face. Dying in Cat Lady means being sent back to the first floor, losing your arsenal of cat buddies and losing half of your currency. Making matters worse, this wouldn’t be a true roguelike without the map changing with each death. Thankfully, some loss of progress can be mitigated a bit as you keep some of your currency that can be used for power ups to make the next trip a bit simpler to endure. Cat Lady might be cute and adorable but the word easy can’t be found in this title. Another element we loved about Cat Lady is the whole aesthetic. Cat Lady’s art seems extremely retro but never does it feel old. The simple color palette changes show you’re getting further into the depths of this mansion but one thing that doesn’t change is the absolutely adorable cats and the designs of the monsters. Each new cat pal has a truly cute look that might shoot terror into enemies but for us just made us smile. Monsters too can range from cute-scary to just flat out silly. That doesn’t remove their difficulty that will always remind you to not take them lightly but it makes Cat Lady a great looking title. The sound also needs to be noted for having some truly catchy tunes that you won’t want to turn off.
    [ad_middle class="mt40 mb40"]

    Honey's Gameplay Consensus:

Cat Lady sticks close to the themes/gameplay elements of roguelike titles but that isn’t a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. With a goofy story to love, fun cat-like allies and some solid—but tough—gameplay, Cat Lady is a blast and we can only wait for the full title to be out of Early Access! While we hope for some more cat powers in the future, right now we see little wrong with the Cat Lady aside from how angry we got when we ran into some truly tough sections! Overall though, you need to paw up the money—that’s the end of the cat puns we swear—so you can help Cat Lady become the next big Steam title!

    Honey's Pros:

    • Absolutely adorable designs that truly made us smile from ear to ear
    • Simple but tough twin-like shooting to keep you on your toes
    • Numerous cats to use that all have their own strengths and weaknesses
    • The ability to use two cats at one time leads to some nice combo skills most twin stick shooters don’t have
    • Great music that works well for the game

    Honey's Cons:

    • Could use some more cats
    • Be prepared to die…a lot…nine lives won’t be enough trust us

    Honey's Final Verdict:

What caused a lot of indie games to fail as they tried to mirror The Binding of Isaac is they took too many risks while forgetting how simple but fun that game is. Cat Lady keeps the core themes of The Binding of Isaac and games like it but utilizes its cat style to create its own identity that players will love. Cat Lady is a truly impressive Early Access game and we think you’ll love it like we did! Are you going to nab it as it is now or wait for the full version? Comment below to let us know! For even more game reviews and anime themed articles be sure to keep stuck to our magnificent hive here at Honey’s Anime! Have a cat-tastic day folks! Okay…we lied about the end of the cat puns earlier…we’re not sorry.

Here’s a bit of reality for you readers out there. Forgiving others is very hard to do in reality, especially when they wrong you in a grievous way. However, forgiving yourself when you fail as a person is even more of a daunting task. Endeavor this week showed that he isn’t asking for forgiveness from his family but instead wants to atone for his mistakes. That’s the main crux of chapter 252 of Boku no Hero Academia. Ending has been captured by Shoto—which means our trio has won at Endeavor’s task—but the battle hasn’t ended just yet. Endeavor tries to explain why he’s distant from his family as he constantly feels like Toya’s death was on him and was ultimately his fault. Natsuo doesn’t want to just up and forgive his father but with tears in his eyes we know his heart has moved in the right direction to slowly forgive his dad regardless of what his words imply. After thanking the trio for making the moves true heroes do—and something he couldn’t—we skip ahead to Endeavor back him with his family. In a final means of redeeming his actions, Endeavor promises to build a new home that’s easier for his family to move to and from work/school and a home that will allow their mother to be welcomed back in a warmer environment. However, as atonement for his past, Endeavor has decided to remain in their current home away from the family. Is this the right move by Endeavor? In many ways, we don’t have a yes or no answer but, for now, we need time to chew on chapter 252 of Boku no Hero Academia before the next installment releases. While we do that, continue on reading why you can’t skip this amazingly emotional 252nd chapter!

Why You Should Read Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) Chapter 252
    [sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="viz" url="https://www.viz.com/read/manga/my-hero-academia-volume-21/product/6057" ]

    1. Atonement

Literally, if we wanted to sum up Boku no Hero Academia’s 252nd chapter in one word, it would be atonement. Endeavor hasn’t been the kindest hero in the series but as we’ve learned more about him we have begun to understand his struggles. In our minds, Endeavor has slowly started to redeem himself and his first step is atoning for his past transgression against his family. What will Endeavor do next to make it right with those he loves and holds dear? Time will only tell but we’re excited to bear witness to such a disliked hero slowly become loved and forgiven by the fandom.

    2. A Quiet Victory

While this whole episode focused on emotions and redemption, we almost forgot a big element that occurred silently. Our three pro-hero trainees have bested Endeavor’s challenge! Not only did they capture the villain before Endeavor but they saved Natsuo’s life! Maybe there wasn’t a lot of fanfare in their accomplishment but we’re clapping loudly here at Honey’s Anime!

    Final Thoughts

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 252 was a chapter that tested people’s empathy for Endeavor. For the last several weeks, we’ve seen various social media outlets talk about Endeavor and how many are trying to forgive him for his past while others say he’s irredeemable. After chapter 252, what side do you stand on? Let us know in the comments below as we think this will make for a big conversation! For even more Boku no Hero Academia reviews keep stuck to us here at Honey’s Anime!

Running since 2012, the Sword Art Online franchise continues to split opinion amongst anime fans. However, the most recent iteration, the second part of the third installment, Alicization, has been a very different experience in comparison to the previous two seasons. Now trapped in a virtual world with his very soul seemingly ruined by an unfortunate event while full-diving using Soul Translator technology, Kirito has lost his way. The story has handed itself over to the Integrity Knight Alice Synthesis Thirty, who fights for the sake of her old village, as well as for Kirito. The Underworld also happens to be on the brink of war – so this season of Sword Art Online is quite loaded! This time around, we’re looking at 6 shows that are similar to Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld!

Similar Anime to Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld

    1. Log Horizon Season 2

Shiroe and the other adventurers have been trapped in the world of Elder Tale for several months. They’ve now gotten used to living in this world, even gaining the trust of the NPCs. Akiba is flourishing; however, the Alliance running the show is soon to be out of funds, not to mention the fact that there are rival spies in the area. Shiroe finds it necessary to explore more of their world, so he sets out to venture beyond the bounds of the city.  Much like Sword Art Online, Log Horizon features main characters who are trapped in a virtual world. The way in which NPCs and world events have evolved after the main characters are trapped in the game is very much like Alicization – War of Underworld given the fact that the very actions of NPCs have brought the world to a very interesting standpoint – the world of Alicization does not need human intervention.

    2. Overlord

The once-popular online virtual reality game, Yggdrassil, is in its final hour. Momonga, a powerful wizard and master of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown decides to spend the final moments in the game as servers begin to shut down. However, to his surprise, he finds himself still logged into the game despite the servers being shut down and even more surprising is how he has become fully conscious as his character while non-player characters have seemingly developed personalities of their own! Stuck in this strange situation, Momonga commands his loyal servants to help him investigate and assume control of this new world in hopes of someday figuring out what happened and if there are others experiencing what he is. Again, much like with Log Horizon and of course Sword Art Online: Alicization, the NPCs in Overlord have gained their own faculties and affect the world in their own special ways. This is over and above the fact that the two titles have the same general premise of being about characters who find themselves trapped in the world of a videogame. Overlord and Alicization also have the similarity of presenting some kind of in-world conflict borne of the actions and lore of the worlds themselves and their NPCs.

In the world of Flonyard, an alternate Earth where humans with animal ears reside, the Republic of Biscotti is a union of dog-like people which is under attack by the cat forces of the Galette Leo Knights. In an attempt to save her country, Princess Millhiore summons a champion from another world. Outbursts Izumi Cinque, a junior high schooler who agrees to save Biscotti, retrieving a sacred weapon known as the Palladion. In Flonyard, war has no casualties and instead, the warring factions participate in sports competitions to raise money for their respective countries. While Cinque performs his job as a hero well, he soon realizes that heroes are unable to return to their homeworlds. Until they can figure something out, Cinque serves Princess Millhiore and the Republic of Biscotti.  Dog Days and Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld have the common themes of conflict or war as well as the idea of characters being forced to participate in worlds that are foreign to them. Alicization – War of Underworld is the continuation of the Alicization story and features the war that breaks out between the humans in the virtual world, and the forces of the Dark Territory that have threatened to wreak havoc on the world, which makes it somewhat similar to the Biscotti war against the Galette Leo Knights.

    4. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero)

The Four Cardinal Heroes are a group of ordinary guys from modern-day Japan who find themselves summoned to the Kingdom of Melromarc in order to save it from the Waves of Catastrophe. The Waves have repeatedly brought death and destruction in their wake. The heroes are each bestowed a special weapon – one wields a spear, one a sword, one a bow; however, Iwatani Naofumi is not impressed when he realizes that he has to wield a measly shield. Lacking the offensive capabilities associated with heroes, Naofumi is ridiculed by the other heroes and the citizens of Melromarc. Each hero is given resources and a party of comrades and Naofumi sets out with just one person – Myne Sophia. Things seem to be going well with Myne until she betrays him and accuses him of taking advantage of her. The entire kingdom turns its back on Naofumi and he is forced to journey on his own, with a terrible reputation following him wherever he goes. Despite his predicament, Naofumi is still a hero and does his best to protect the Kingdom of Melromarc from the Waves.  The world of The Rising of the Shield Hero is based on a videogame, at least according to the three other heroes. Naofumi has no experience playing any game similar to the world. However, this remains a similarity between this anime and Sword Art Online, not to mention the fact that Shield Hero is all about Naofumi and the other heroes combating the waves; which is not unlike the war between the Integrity Knights of the human empire and the agents of the Dark Territory.

    5. GATE: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri (GATE)

When an interdimensional gate opens up in the middle of Ginza and ushers in an army of supernatural creatures and warriors from another realm, pandemonium ensues. Off-duty JSDF officer Itami Youji happens to be in the area to attend a doujin convention when he is caught in the chaos, but he remains calm and helps to save as many lives as he can as the rest of the Japanese Self-Defense Force thwarts the invasion. Months later, Itami is tasked with leading an expedition through the gate into the region beyond – now referred to as the “Special Region”. With his special recon team, Itami must travel into this unknown world to befriend locals in order to establish peaceful ties within the ruling empire. Failure would result in a war far more chaotic than the devastation that befell Ginza a few months prior. GATE and Sword Art Online features some kind of alternate world or universe. The difference is that GATE happens in reality and the events of Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld happen in a virtual world. However, in both shows, the world alternate to reality is in many ways based on fantasy elements and features some kind of long-standing conflict that the main character finds themselves roped into at some point in the series.

    6. Yu☆Gi☆Oh! VRAINS (Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS)

Den City is a place where duelists live and enter a virtual reality space known as Link Vrains. In Link Vrains, users can create their own avatars and participate in games of Duel Monsters against each other; however, it is threatened by the hacker organization known as The Knights of Hanoi. High schooler Fujiki Yusaku assumes the alias “Playmaker” and battles against them; however, one day, Yusaku comes into contact with a strange AI that causes a digital phenomenon known as the Data Storm, where duelists surf on the current of the wave whilst dueling in an event known as a Speed Duel. Yusaku combats The Knights of Hanoi with hopes of uncovering the truth about his own past.  Both VRAINS and War of Underworld have events that occur in reality and in some kind of virtual world. In both shows, we are presented with some kind of conflict that happens in the virtual world, a world which has taken up a form of its own and can be considered to be existing independently of human interference. Sword Art Online and VRAINS also have a similarity in how they place the element's main character’s past with experiences that they have had with the virtual reality itself.
