One of 2019's most famous hentai anime, Shakuen no Eris is an ongoing series that feature some of the most incredible sex scenes that we've seen this year. The anime is largely famous for its depiction of forced sex in hentai, which is always popular among the fans. What's more, Shakuen no Eris offers a diversity of sex scenes to us, which range from having monsters in it to one where toys are extensively used. Its diversity is one of the many reasons why it has been so popular among the fans. As the name suggests, the anime follows the story of Eris, who is considered to be a hero. In fact, she isn't your average hero either, she's considered to be the land's strongest. However, even the best of the lot falter at times and that's exactly what happens to Eris. One day, she's captured by massive monsters who tear her body apart and use her for their own good. Upon leaving the place, Eris craves more of the same intense action, so her boss, Kiryuu, offers a solution. All she has to do is to serve as his personal slut and she can rest all she wants. Shakuen no Eris does an excellent job of depicting sex that is both intense and exciting to watch at the same time. Although some scenes, such as those with the monsters, can be too much for some people, it does have other moments that nearly everyone can appreciate. The hentai anime delivers some excellent stuff when it comes to sluts craving for dick. Eris can't help but want every hole in her body get filled with cocks. To make things even more interesting, her boss humiliates her in unique ways which really stands out as one of the strongest assets of this anime. A product of PoRo, we're certain that lots of you out there love Shakuen no Eris, and are looking for more hentai along the same lines as this one. If that's the case, you're at the perfect place because, in this article, we'll be going over 6 hentai anime like Shakuen no Eris, so without further-ado, let's get started.

Similar Anime to Shakuen no Eris

1. Kuroinu: Kedakaki Seijo wa Hakudaku ni Somaru

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="DMM" url="https://www.dmm.co.jp/digital/anime/-/detail/=/cid=h_386acrn00047" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="4" item2="Aired" content2="Jan. 2012 – Jan. 2014" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

Kuroinu features the story of humans and dark elves in a place known as Eostia. With the elves in power at a certain time, some mercenaries take it upon themselves to take control of Eostia and capture the women of the dark elves and their own in the process. With the aid of the orcs, the band defiles every woman they can get their hands-on, and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. Even the Queen of the dark elves, Discordia Origa, isn't spared and she tastes the cock of these hungry men just like all the other girls there. Kuroinu might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's certainly something that's very similar to Shakuen no Eris in more than one way. Just like Eris is torn apart by the monstrous manhood of a few orcs in the first episode, we get to see the women in Kuroinu receive a similar treatment. What's more, with time, some of the girls in the anime become just as hungry for semen as Eris, which further justifies Kuroinu being on our list. From multiple monsters humping women to girls getting turned on from non-consensual sex, Kuroinu has it all, and in some ways, it's even better than Shakuen no Eris. Of course, that's completely up to you to decide, but we're certain that you can't go wrong with this anime.

2. Shikkoku no Shaga The Animation

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="DMM" url="https://www.dmm.co.jp/digital/anime/-/detail/=/cid=403jdxa057373" ]

[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

A love story set in the Brian period, Shikkoku no Shaga takes us through the mountains to a small village where a monster, who can transform into a beautiful girl, lives all alone. Often, men fall prey to her beauty and try to force themselves on her. Giving them full advantage to use her body in helplessness, she ends up devouring them all when the right time arrives. However, things don't turn out in her favor when someone unexpectedly reaches the bottom of her heart. Can a monster possibly fall in love? Being one of the works of Pink Pineapple, it’s pretty much a given that Shikkoku no Shaga is an incredibly beautiful anime when it comes to direction and animation. The anime features a unique blend of absolute authority of men over the bodies of some females who are all ready to see their pussies get filled with cum. Akin to Shakuen no Eris, we see some men, such as Kiyomori, wield great power. He goes from fucking woman to woman and he makes sure to use every hole in their body to his liking, turning them into complete sluts. Other than that, the monster aspect of Shikkoku no Shaga is quite easily something that connects it to Shakuen no Eris as well. Undoubtedly, these two are very similar in nature, and if you loved Shakuen no Eris, there's no way you won't enjoy watching Shikkoku no Shaga as well.

3. Princess Knight☆Catue

[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

Princess Knight Catue follows the story of Dragundaala, where the descendants of the dragons live. Upon being conquered by the demon army, their leaders are taken as captives. To save them, Princess Catue carries out an operation that ends up failing. To her dismay, she is offered an ultimatum; endure sexual acts performed to her for seven days and see her parents freed, or suffer. Princess Knight Catue is created for the likes of the people who don't mind gangbangs and harshness that hentai tends to display often. As such, you may or may not like it, but if you're fine with Shakuen no Eris, we figure that you will likely enjoy this as well. Princess Catue sees our main character get completely demolished by monsters as she's fucked again and again for seven days straight. To the pleasure of the watchers, she secretly ends up liking what's being done to and craves more dicks in her by the end. It certainly is quite a journey for Princess Catue, and it is definitely one that we enjoyed watching as fans. We're certain that you'll love this hentai if you give it a go, so do let us know!

4. Venus Blood: Brave

Leona aims to defeat the demons who have been unleashed upon the world by the Demon Lord. With the power of a second moon, the demons become a problem to deal with. Leona is then helped by Hein, who makes her aware of a secret way to defeat the demons. Unfortunately for her, he ends up tricking her and now she must give up her body to Hein, or end up suffering a cruel fate at the hands of the demons. With no choice left, Leona reluctantly agrees. Like Shakuen no Eris, we see our main character get tricked by a cunning guy, in this case, Hein. After putting her to sleep, Hein wastes no time in binding her hands and throwing some wriggly tentacles on her. As expected, Leona's body is completely ravaged and she loses herself in the sexual euphoria as all the tentacles explore every inch of her pussy, ass, and her mouth. Leona is used like a ragdoll by Hein and there's a lot in this anime that we think you'll enjoy if you loved Shakuen no Eris. Of course, the premise of the two anime is very different, however, they're both equally enjoyable, we feel.

5. Maken no Hime wa Ero Ero Desu

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="DMM" url="https://www.dmm.co.jp/rental/ppr/-/detail/=/cid=h_357acpdpr1058r" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="4" item2="Aired" content2="October 2018 - Ongoing" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

Maken no Hime wa Ero Ero Desi's story unravels in a magical world where all sorts of magic and beasts exist. Shiira, a princess finds herself surrounded by orcs who start asserting her dominance over her body. Meanwhile, Nina, an elf who taught Shiira everything, just stands there and enjoys as this horrific fate is brought upon her. How will Shiira free herself from this misery? What exactly happened to Nina? You'll have to watch it to find out. Maken no Hime wa Ero Ero Desu is very similar to Shakuen no Eris and much of it down to the fact that they're the work of the same studio. PoRo has done decent work on Maken no Hime, and we think that it's one of their better products. The hentai anime does great work at depicting excellence with both Shiira and Nina as they enjoy some of the most erotic sex that we've seen right from the beginning of the anime. With a tinge of monsters, bondage, and even Yuri, it isn't hard to see why Maken no Hime wa Ero Ero Desu makes our list. Whether it's Shiira whose getting ripped apart by some orcs or the slutty elf Nina whose getting stuffed with dicks, the anime makes sure that we enjoy our fill and have a good time. You can't go wrong with this one, surely.

6. Tensei Kendo no Harem Colosseum

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="DMM" url="https://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/anime/-/detail/=/cid=h_357achdl1096" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="4" item2="Aired" content2="May 2017 - January 2018" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

Duranta, an elf, is the lead at the Colosseum who spends her days fighting and winning people's hearts. Upon getting an invitation from Princess Lunahasol, Duranta finds herself in quite a pickle when Liguceun is ordered to rape her. To the shock of Duranta, Liguceun is keen on obeying the order and secretly, so is she. A difficult yet secretly wonderful time for her ensues. Tensei Kendo no Harem Colosseum is very different from what we have on this list because the relationship of Duranta and Liguceun that it features is borderline Vanilla. Even though Ligu is ordered to rape her, he's very careful with the treatment of Duranta. Despite that, the relationship that Duranta and Liguceun share is somewhat similar to what we see between Eris and Keys. Furthermore, both hentai anime give us quite an erotic view of women clad in armor getting fucked and moaning to the fullest. Just like Eris, Duranta can't hide her pleasure as Liguceun penetrates the depths of her pussy. She fails at hiding her satisfaction despite being raped and ends up getting addicted to her sensei's cock. What's more, Tensei Kendo no Harem Colosseum is yet another product of PoRo, and you'll have a similar experience watching this anime as well. Of all the anime on this list, we feel that Tensei Kendo no Harem Colosseum is the best when it comes to some great sexual action.

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="DMM" url="https://www.dmm.co.jp/mono/anime/-/detail/=/cid=h_357achdl1096" ]

Shakuen no Eris gives us a bunch of great hentai kinks to work with, such as monsters, non-consensual sex, ahegao, and toys, among many others. Therefore, we believe that the choices that we made for this list tailored around these specific tastes. We hope you enjoyed going through the list and found what you were looking for. Every wizard in fantasy stories has amazing powers to summon creatures that can help them in a battle against their enemies. Some only summon them for the battle, others work with their familiars every day. We all have seen the image of the witch or wizard accompanied by a black cat, a raven, or an owl. It's even a staple of magical girl anime, where the familiar is usually a cute critter that makes everyone around them want to hug them forever. And sometimes, the familiars show up as people themselves with powers and abilities that complement the ones of the wizard. In the Fate universe, we have mages and their servants, who happen to be heroes of the past. Their fights in their Holy Grail Wars are epic and have caused many changes in mankind’s history. And while they’re amazing series that will pump up your adrenaline while you’re watching them, we understand the whole saga may be a bit confusing for newcomers with whom you’d like to share the story. So here are six other anime that may help you ease them into the concepts so they can enjoy Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia with you. Or you can watch them on your own after finishing the latest Fate/Grand Order episode!

Death's work is not easy. To help him to defend the underworld from evil, Lord Death has created the Death Weapon Meister Academy, where human hybrids who can transform into weapons are raised and work together with Shinigami to one day become Death Scythes, a feat that only those who have consumed 99 evil souls and a witch can achieve. Evan is one of said weapons who works together with his Meister Maka Albarn who is determined to become the best Meister in the world. Soul Eater is a fun shounen anime that gives us an amazing cast of characters with incredible abilities, and an intriguing story that makes binging the whole series an enjoyable experience. Just like with Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia, part of the fun is seeing the contrast between the Meisters and their Weapons, or the Mages and their Servants, as it’s very rare to have a pair that doesn’t have some conflicts. The fact that the fate of the earth is on the line in both series is just the cherry on the cake of two epic tales of magic partnership.

What would you do in exchange for one wish? Every 12 years, 12 warriors are summoned by a mysterious organization to have a battle to the death. Whoever survives at the end of a 12-hour fight will get the ultimate prize: One wish that can be anything in the world. But to win said prize, the fighters must put their lives on the line, literally. Before the fight begins, each eats a "Beast Gem", a poisonous material that will kill them in the allotted time, and the only way to get the antidote is if they manage to assassinate every other contestant in the game. Named after the signs of the Chinese Zodiac, the 12 warriors will have to face each other and prove their will to live. Unlike Fate/Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia, Junni Taisen doesn’t involve summoning creatures or magic combat. While some of the twelve have abilities that could be considered magical, such as Rabbit being able to resurrect corpses as zombies or Chicken being able to control birds, they are all the result of experiments. And while the stakes in the fight are less epic than in Fate/Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia, we can guarantee that if you like brutal combat, you’ll love Juuni Taisen.

At first glance, Sebastian Michaelis is the best butler that a recently orphaned young boy could have. He is attentive, efficient, an excellent cook, and is also capable of dealing with any enemy that his ward might have. And Ciel Phantomhive has many, since the thirteen-year-old boy is the sole survivor of a fire that destroyed the Phantomhive family, the head of a huge toy and candy corporation, and he is also “The Queen’s Guard Dog”, who takes care of criminals and enemies of the crown. Of course, Sebastian is no mere mortal: He’s a demon summoned by Ciel to get revenge on his parents’ killers, who will devour Ciel’s soul once the deed is done. Kuroshitsuji is a tale of revenge and how it can destroy someone’s life. There’s no illusion that the story will have a happy ending because even if there is a second season, we know that in the end, once Ciel “finishes his deeds”, Sebastian will eat his soul. The tragedy is that Ciel is not an old man with nothing left to live for: When he made his deal, he was only ten. And as the story unfolds, we realize that it was not just the death of his parents that caused him to feel disdain towards all mankind. If you want a darker tale of summoning demons and fighting ancient conspiracies after Fate/Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia, Kuroshitsuji will be exactly your cup of tea.

4. Mahou Shoujo Madoka ★Magica (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

Who wouldn’t want to be a magical girl? Just imagine: You get amazing magic powers, save your friends from unseen danger, a cute outfit with a special weapon, and bring hope to the world. To make things even better, you don’t need to sacrifice anything you hold dear, instead, you get one wish granted before you do any fighting. The offer sounds too good to be true, right? Perhaps that is why Madoka Kaname hesitates to accept the deal that Kyuubey, a cute animal that looks like a cross between a cat and a rabbit, wants her to take. As her best friend Sayaka becomes a magical girl to save her crush’s hands and she meets other magical girls including Homura, who warns her against asking for a wish, Madoka realizes that there’s much that Kyuubey is not telling her about the Magical Girl System. Mahou Shoujo Madoka ★ Magica is a unique, Faustian take on the Magical Girl tropes. There is no happy ending to a deal with the devil, even if the devil looks like a cute plush toy you’d love to have on your shelf, and the series is merciless in showing us that. Every girl has their wish granted, but the consequences of those wishes make them fall into despair faster, which is precisely what Kyuubey wants. Don’t be fooled by the cuteness of the animation, this is one of the darker takes on the “summoning magic to save the world” plot that you can find on this list.

In the Barsburg Empire, some people can use a magic-like ability known as Zaiphon to fight, soldiers are trained in an elite academy to be ranked by their Zaiphon’s level. Teito Klein is one such student but unlike his other classmates, he wasn’t born to a privileged family but a slave. Teito doesn’t remember much of his past and when he gets a very violent flashback of a high ranking official killing his own father, Teito tries to kill the official, ending up in jail. It’s only thanks to his best friend that Teito can escape and try to figure out his past in the seventh district of the Empire. 07 – Ghost has a very interesting backstory that is only revealed as the main plot advances. There is intrigue, a lost empire, arranged marriages and then there are the Ghosts, who protect the church, the empire, and are supposedly the seal of an ancient evil but also have a very different definition of “protecting” as they will destroy people’s memories if necessary. Just as Fate/Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia gives us the sense of a bigger, more complicated world behind the scenes, 07-Ghost shows us little by little how big it’s world really is and how high the stakes in battle are.

Despite being the oldest series on this list, Rozen Maiden holds up very well to the passing of time, and it’s a great series to discover or re-watch if you are a fan of Fate/Grand Order Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia. The relationship of the dolls and their mediums is very similar to the Heroes and their Mages but this time, the action happens in the present, creating a different dynamic. The Alice Game also doesn't have a huge impact on the world, as the prize is to become human, but since we grow attached to all the dolls, we still feel as if the world ends every time one is damaged. Give it a chance and you will be surprised by how good it is.

Final Thoughts

Every tale that includes magic reminds us that it has a price and consequences, and the most powerful magic has the worst consequences for those who cast it. Wars, even on a small scale, can also have lasting unintended results, especially for the soldiers who had to fight them. And these series, while taking on a lot of fantasy tropes, do deal with the reality of loss, obsession, revenge and how far we, as humans, can go in the search of them if we’re offered a way to get all that we want without much time to think about what it will cost us. Of course, we also want to know what you think of this list. Are the series you expected here? Or did we manage to find one that you hadn’t seen yet and helped you discover a new favorite? Please, let us know in the comments below.

The planet and those still on it are in dire straights in chapter 31 of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den! Ben’s warheads are soon to be launching and those who survived the tournament are just now realizing they were tricked and possibly will be eliminated! Hope still remains though as Hachimaru and the team head to Benki’s ship aware of the internal passages thanks to Daruma’s memory hack. Even with traps and defenses ready to eliminate the intruders, Ben watches as they breeze to his outer chamber in no time at all! Unfortunately, Ben wasn’t fully ill-prepared and uses one last trap to hit all but one… Sanda. Shocked, Sanda approaches his betrayer but is given an ultimatum. If Sanda helps Ben—who killed his parents and lied to him—then he will spare his life and take him back with open arms. Alone and clearly outmatched, Sanda picks up his sword and points it as his friend…Ryu! Will Sanda just end up going back to the Kotsuga we know? Facing down survival or death, Sanda might have to make a hard choice in the next chapter of Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den! Place your bets now on what will happen as we analyze more about chapter 31 and why you need to check it out!

Why You Should Read Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den (Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru) Chapter 31
[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="viz" url="https://www.viz.com/read/manga/samurai-8-volume-1/product/6215" ]

1. Doomed!?!?

In a surprising scene, we learn many of the tournament participants didn’t up and leave after they lost but stayed around! Now aware that Ben lied to them and made up the entire event, those on the ground are worried that they will soon be blown to smithereens but his warheads! Can these samurai do anything to stop their fate!?

2. Choose a Side Sanda!

Sanda was the only member of the infiltration team to not be bound by Ben’s final trap! Despite the seething rage burning inside of him, Sanda has a choice to make. Will he side with Benki and rejoin him or save his friends but possibly die trying? Sanda isn’t as powerful as the rest of the warriors on this ship and that means his choice of betraying them would keep him alive. Will he really do that though after promising Ryu to help find his memories?

Final Thoughts

Samurai 8: Hachimaru Den 31 was a quick chapter but one that was pretty intriguing. Our non-samurai is the only one not trapped and his choice could affect not only his own life but those on the planet as well! We figure the end result will most likely be a shonen-themed one but maybe we’ll be surprised? What do you readers think? Let us know via the comment section below! • This update provides the player with even more customization and choice, as the Main Character can now be paired with Solgaleo, Torchic, or Pikachu as their partner Pokémon. To commemorate this character introduction, an in-game event titled “The Beast That Devours The Sun” is now available until January 21 at 9:59PM Pacific Time, and allows players to earn special items required to “Unlock Level Cap” and learn “Moves & Skills” for Solgaleo.
  • DeNA also announced the arrival of two highly-ancitipated Dragon-type sync pairs to the game. Lance, first seen in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, is now available and forms a sync pair with his partner Pokémon Dragonite.

Can VR Be The Next New Way To View Anime?

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="imdb" url="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2250192/mediaviewer/rm1985020416" ]

Anime viewers have it better than those of the past when it comes to watching their favorite shows. In the early days of anime, viewing anime was only possible using a TV and waiting for a new series like Tetsujin 28 or Mach Go Go Go. As technology advanced, anime could be viewed on VHS, DVDs, Blu-Rays and now on cellphones/tablets. You can watch the latest episodes of Sword Art Online: Alicization- War of Underworld or Food Wars! The Fourth Plate at home, at work—which we don’t condone here at Honey’s Anime—and at the gym. It almost seems like there isn’t anyway left we can view anime… or is there? What if folks, we could view anime using the power of VR!? Seems impossible? Well, we will find out in our latest article so aptly titled, Can VR Be The Next New Way To View Anime?

Become the Protagonist

Visual novel fans will tell you the best thing about playing a VN is becoming the protagonist. You make the choices, you see the results and you get to live the life of an anime main hero/heroine. Imagine if watching an anime using VR gave you that same immersion? Maybe you won’t be able to make choices like the VN games let you but you can witness the protagonist’s challenges/life through his/her eyes! That would be a truly neat experience and give anime a level of immersion never before seen!

Take in the World!

If you’re a fan of Makoto Shinkai like we here are at Honey’s Anime then you know the beauty his team goes into when it comes to making backgrounds. Rain hits the pavement realistically and the lights from the city pierce into the sky in ways most anime can’t capture. One of our wishes in this world is to see the worlds Shinkai makes for ourselves and VR could help obtain that dream. While VR still struggles to capture realistic world settings—most VR games look okay but never amazing—in the future we could see graphics improve immensely in the VR world and that—in turn—could make for amazing anime backdrops. Imagine turning around in 360 degrees watching Kimi no Na wa and staring at that mountain vista rather than seeing a TV pan around. VR could truly bring us into our favorite anime and see the world all around!

Embrace your Waifu/Husbando

We know what Otaku like since most of us here at Honey’s Anime are Otaku as well! We all love famous anime girls like Rem from Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu or Makoto Tachibana from Free! Now imagine being able to not just love them from afar but up close and personal! VR might not give you the ability to feel their body on yours but it can give you the thoughts of embracing your favorite anime crushes in a way images just can’t do! Anime viewers would be able to don their VR headsets and pretend their running to their waifu/husband with open arms! Anime wars would become a bit more heated but we’d think that’s just a side-effect of being able to love an anime even more than before with VR!

Proof It Can Work!

There are dozens of you readers out there rolling your eyes already at the thought that anime being viewed in VR is a pipe dream. You’re probably also saying it can’t work in the end…right? Well folks, here are two examples of anime-related VR games that are both amazing and truly immerse you in the worlds they set. Spice and Wolf VR and Cyber Danganronpa VR: The Class Trials are two VR titles based on anime/video game franchises—respectfully—that give you a whole new experience in the VR realm. Both games let you dive into the worlds set by the series and experience the sensations of these series via the VR experience. Spice and Wolf VR feels like watching—and interacting—with an episode of the show, giving players a truly new outlook on how cute Holo is. Meanwhile, Cyber Danganronpa VR: The Class Trials lets you sit in on a trial and witness the insaneness of Monokuma and characters from the original game/anime! These are just small titles but they prove without a doubt that anime can be enjoyed in the VR sense in both an interactive sense and a visual one.

Final Thoughts

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="imdb" url="https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9426210/mediaviewer/rm2068487937" ]

VR technology continues to improve and we’re seeing a silly concept originally become a new outlook on what people can do in a fictional realm! Developers for VR games/titles still have a bit to learn when it comes to crafting titles for various VR systems but we know they are up to the task! Even besides games, VR has potentials that could lead to a new way to experience your favorite anime series in a way only see by shows like Sword Art Online or .hack//Sign! Do you think VR could lead to a groundbreaking new way to enjoy anime or will it always be a niche little invention? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! If you loved this article, there are even more to enjoy here at Honey’s Anime!

Well now…seem’s like Boku no Hero Academia chapter 255 proved our detective right. After continued emotional cries from Aizawa, Oboro seems to truly not exist in Kurogiri…or does he? In probably one of the most beautiful panels of the series, we finally see a face within Kurogiri and it should be obvious this is Oboro. With the utter surprise on everyone’s faces, the moment isn’t long-lived as Oboro—from within Kurogiri—only says one word—hospital. Kurogiri has once more taken over but has passed out due to exhaustion leaving our two pro heroes a bit drained themselves. With only the vague clue left behind by a friend from the past, our pro heroes leave the prison and begin to chew on their next moves with faith in their hearts stronger than before! Meanwhile, at Wakagumo Hosptial, some big events are occurring and they aren’t as hopeful. Hawk seems to be happy that his plans are coming to fruition but in a desolate location a being is being reborn and that just so happens to be Tomura Shigaraki. In what looks like a painful metamorphosis, our villain leader is back and he’s definitely not what we remember. Overall folks, chapter 255 of Boku no Hero Academia was incredible, giving us some epic art—that may be our new phone wallpaper at the moment—and a scary beginning to a threat no hero is expecting! We have a two-week wait for chapter 256 but in the meantime, here are some reasons why you need to read chapter 255 right now and not a moment later!

Why You Should Read Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) Chapter 255

1. From Within

That’s right folks, Oboro isn’t truly dead and part of him does still indeed exist within the villain we know as Kurogiri! Can our heroes find a way to separate the two beings or will Oboro remain within an element he was fighting against becoming a part of!? The answer to this question probably won’t be realized anytime soon but we are itching for it nonetheless!

2. A Changed Man

Tomura Shigaraki has returned, it seems, after his several-month cocoon-like state and he’s being reborn in a truly painful-looking way. What are his new powers, will he be the same Tomura we know and will he be a true threat to mankind? We have some thoughts but they all point to one main theory. Tomura is going to truly shake up Boku no Hero Academia and test our heroes in a way never before seen!

Final Thoughts

Boku no Hero Academia 255 is two big events in one small package. We have a friend showing he’s alive from the past and we have a villain metamorphosed into a beast in the present. What new tales await with these elements being revealed in the Boku no Hero Academia world? Discussion Time

Yakusoku no Neverland chapter 162 almost felt like three separate stories in one epic chapter! The beginning focused on our two helpful demons Sonju and Mujika with the former having an idea to save the realm from being leaderless. The two travel to an old-looking cave wherein five almost statue-like demons exist. We learn from Sonju that these were ancient demons called the High Priest and Four Sages. Unlike most demons, they wanted peace and unity in the Neverland and tried their best to side on the way of keeping both races—human and demon—happy/healthy. Unfortunately, they failed and hid away and have gone into an almost immobile state. Despite looking dead, the demons are still very much alive praying for the citizen’s wellbeing. Sonju’s plan is to use Mujika’s blood to revive them and let them rule the land with the kindness that still should be in their hearts! Elsewhere in the land, Peter Ratri—the leader of the clan—has now learned of the Queen’s death and is all but ecstatic. In his crazed mind, Peter believes this could be the end of the demons if they just wait for the opportune time to attack! Our chapter concludes with him talking about Grace Field and behold, we see the familiar land from above in all of its strange hexagon-like form. The big surprise, though, is waiting within where we see some of those brought to this place—being held as hostages—meeting an old face…Isabella…or should we say Grandma Isabella!? That’s right folks, Yakusoku no Neverland chapter 162 was an intense entry in this mythical series and we could spend days going over our favorite parts. However, we’ll just focus on our two best elements of the chapter like always to ensure our readers check this 162nd volume out when they can!

Why You Should Read Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) Chapter 162

1. Revival Plan

Sonju and Mujika have a truly important mission handed to them by Emma, stop others from dying if at all possible! In many ways, this plan seemed all but impossible but maybe if Sonju’s plan to revive those with hearts not filled with lust/greed/gluttony works out then Neverland can find a new land of peace. We can’t wait for those very… thin demons to be revitalized and see if their hearts can truly accomplish what they once envisioned long ago.

2. Grandma Isabella!?!?

Isabella was a woman we thought was all but gone from the Yakusoku no Neverland story but it turns out we were wrong. She’s back and despite still looking to be young she now has the title of Grandma? Don’t worry, we have just as many questions as you but, for now, we can’t wait to see what this old character has for us in the story.

Final Thoughts

There were plenty of surprises in chapter 162 of Yakusoku no Neverland and we loved each one! We have our potential new leaders—who seem nice despite being living mummies at the moment—and Isabella has made a reappearance now as a grandma. Our minds are just spinning as these 20 pages were chock full of information we just can’t yet fully grasp! What do you think was the best part of chapter 162 of Yakusoku no Neverland? Comment below to let us know! For even more Yakusoku no Neverland chapter reviews don’t stray too far from us here at Honey’s Anime!

5 Cutest Pokémon Trainers in Pokémon Sword and Shield

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="pokemon" url="https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/we-battle-nessa-and-her-dynamax-pokemon-in-the-pokemon-sword-and-pokemon-shield-demo-at-e3/" ]

Pokémon games are full of cute little creatures that we love to train and evolve, but sometimes, the trainers that accompany you throughout the story are cuter than Pokémon! In Pokémon Sword and Shield, we had lots of cute characters like the user’s female player, officially called Gloria, along with a handful of other trainer cuties. In this article, we will be discussing those Galar girls that stole our hearts and made us enjoy the newest game. Let’s begin!

5. Sonia

Sonia is a beautiful redheaded researcher that helps you through your goal of becoming the Galar region’s new champion. She’s young, has large, pretty turquoise eyes and best of all, she is very knowledgeable. Sonia is the granddaughter and assistant of Galar’s Professor, Magnolia, and a childhood friend of the current Champion, Leon. Although introduced in the game as an assistant, we soon learn that Sonia is a former Pokémon trainer who served as a rival to Leon, but lost her way through the Gym Challenge and is now searching for a new path in her life together with her Pokémon Yamper. With the help of Sonia, you will discover Galar’s history and legends, information which she later compiled into a book that helped her achieve the title of professor. Sonia’s cute appearance may have taken over many fan's hearts, but those that have been long-time followers of Pokémon can agree that she’s only in the shadow of the most loved ginger-haired cutie in Pokémon: Misty.

4. Bea

Bea is part of the 8 Gym Leaders of the Galar region, specializing in Fighting-type Pokémon. Her Stadium is located in the town Stow-on-Side, right in the middle of the Galar region. The cute Gym Leader Bea is exclusive to the game Pokémon Sword, meaning you will not be able to challenge her if you bought Pokémon Shield. Bea represents her gym’s theme perfectly in appearance, she looks confident, determined and while maintaining the elegance and beauty of martial arts. Bea’s appearance caused a lot of commotion when she was introduced, taking the internet by storm with thousands of fan art highlighting her tomboy-ish beauty. Bea is the kind of girl that doesn’t smile often, however, we get to see how adorable she looks smiling after we defeat her in her Stadium and later on in her rare League Card.

3. Melony

When we first saw Melony we can all agree that the first thing we thought was: “Woah, she’s THICC.” This trait is what makes her stand out from other characters in the Galar region and honestly, from all other characters in Pokémon games. But that’s not the only reason why she made it far into the list, she is also elegant and very stylish. She wears a big fluffy hat with a thick white turtleneck that goes well with her long and voluminous light gray hair, all of which add cuteness to her very curvy figure. This Gym Leader is a hard-working mother with a great personality, but that does not mean she’d go easy on you or her children. Melony is a Galar gym leader exclusive for Pokémon Shield, in the Pokémon Sword game, you will challenge her son Gordie in the Circhester Stadium. Don’t you just want a big hug from this cute Pokémon trainer?

2. Nessa

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="pokemon" url="https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/see-dynamax-pokemon-max-raid-battles-and-the-wild-area-in-pokemon-sword-and-pokemon-shield/" ]

Nessa is without a doubt the most popular of the Gym Leaders from the Galar Region, and a big-time favorite among the Pokémon fandom. When first revealed during Nintendo’s E3 Direct, the Water-type Gym Leader Nessa caught the attention of almost every Poke-fan because of her stunning beauty and elegant character design. Her beautiful dark skin makes a great contrast with her icy blue eyes and her cyan blue and black hair makes her outstandingly cute. Nessa is cute and she knows it, and she clearly shows us a better and sexier side of herself in her rare League Card, where she wears an elegant white dress, red lace-up heels, and a cute wavy hairstyle. Unfortunately, they didn’t take advantage of Nessa’s potential as a character, giving us very little time to share with what could have been the next water-type Pokémon queen since Misty.

1. Marnie

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="pokemon" url="https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-video-games/pokemon-sword-and-pokemon-shield/" ]

She’s cute, she’s spunky and she’s our Pokémon Sword and Shield idol. Marnie has a lot of points in favor to be the top of the cute trainer list. Unlike other trainers that are famous for being sexy, Marnie is the cute loli we must all protect. Presented to the players as our rival, we travel the Galar region bumping into Marnie here and there, seeing her character evolve along the way. At first, we see her as a cool, collected character with a crazy group of fans that support her, but of whom she seems annoyed by. Her fans, Team Yell, are introduced as the villainous group of the game, giving us a false impression of Marnie at first, but once we start knowing her better we can see how sweet and friendly she really is. Her Pokémon companion, Morpeko, and its Hunger Switch Ability give us some insight on how Marnie’s character is, being split into having a good-natured and caring side but also being competitive and short-tempered. No matter what side of Marnie we’re seeing, whether it’s the shy girl attempting to “train” on how to smile, or the dark sassy idol of a villain group, we can all agree that Marnie is just the cuteness queen of Sword and Shield and a great character with a heart of gold.

Final Thoughts

Pokémon games have always introduced many cute trainers, but Sword and Shield had some of the cutest female trainer designs, not only the ones on the list but many others including some Trainer Classes like trainer Lass, and other non-trainer cuties like your in-game Mum. Did your favorite trainer cutie make it to our list? Which one was your favorite? Let us know in the comments below!

5 Weird Ways to Evolve Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="pokemon.com" url="https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-video-games/pokemon-sword-and-pokemon-shield/" ]

If you’ve ever played a Pokémon game, you know that Pokémon not only evolve by leveling but also by making contact with certain Evolutionary Stones like Fire Stone. If you’re a long-time follower of the franchise, you’ll know that certain Pokémon require slightly more complicated steps to follow in order for them to evolve—some of the most iconic evolution methods being: high friendship, gender-specific evolutions and the time of day. Over the generations, we seem to stumble upon more and more crazy requirements to evolve certain Pokémon, so today, we will like to discuss the five weirdest ways to evolve 8th generation Pokémon in the games Pokémon Sword and Shield.

5. Grapploct

[sourceLink asin="B082FSTZY5" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="" url="" ]

Grapploct is our last 8th generation Pokémon on the list because its evolutionary method is not all too weird if you’ve played any Pokémon game after generation 4. To evolve Grapploct you first need to catch a Clobbopus. Once Clobbopus is in your party, you must make sure this Pokémon knows the ability Taunt. Clobbopus learns Taunt on its own by leveling up to 35 and if you teach your Pokémon Taunt, it will automatically evolve into Grapploct at that level. Another way would be teaching Taunt to Clobbopus at any level using a TM, this will cause your Clobbopus to evolve into Grapploct in its next level.

4. Flapple and Appletun

We’re aware that Flapple and Appletun are two separate Pokémon, however, they need to share the fourth spot on our list because they both come from the same pre-evolution Pokémon: Applin. Evolving an Applin is fairly easy with the correct item, as you will not need to level it nor make it hold an item while leveling in order for it to evolve. You simply need to “expose” Applin to an item for it to trigger the evolution and to do so, just make Applin hold a Sweet Apple or a Tart Apple and that should automatically start the evolution into Flapple or Appletun. Although other 8th generation Pokémon—like Sinistea—share this ‘expose to item’ evolution method, Applin is the only 8th generation Pokémon to have two evolution options this way. Exposing Applin to a Tart Apple will make it evolve into Flapple and exposing it to a Sweet Apple will make it evolve into Appletun.

3. Sirfetch'd

It only took eight Pokémon generations for our old friend Farfetch'd to be able to evolve into the intriguing Sirfetch'd. Evolving a Galarian Farfetch'd takes a little research, and once you find out how to do it, you’ll agree with us it’s a little tricky and a little weird. To evolve Galarian Farfetch'd into Sirfetch'd in Pokémon Sword and Shield you first need to find and catch Farfetch'd either in Route 5 or try your luck in Giant's Mirror inside the Wild Area while keeping in mind it’s a rare spawn. After you get your hands on one, it’s time to use it in battle as Farfetch'd will only evolve after landing three critical hits in one single battle. To make your life easier, make sure to catch a Galarian Farfetch'd that is holding the item Leek (there’s a 50% chance for it to be holding it from the wild) as this item greatly increases the chances of landing critical hits. Now, go fight an opponent with enough HP to withstand 3 critical attacks after 3 charges of Focus Energy. You could also teach Farfetch'd the attack Leaf Blade by using the TR50 or by leveling it up to 55, then getting yourself into a lengthy battle like a Max Raid Battle or Double Battles to increase your chances of landing critical hits with your Farfetch'd in one encounter.

2. Runerigus

If you’re asking yourself how to evolve Yamask into Runerigus, be ready to go through one of the weirdest methods of evolution in Pokémon Sword and Shield. First, catch a Gallarian Yamask from Route 6, then get ready for a pretty weird ritual. Use the Flying Taxi to land near any entry point to the Wild Area with Yamask in your party. Equip a Focus Sash on Yamask to be safe, then head out to a desert looking spot inside the Wild Area called the Dusty Bowl. Once there, put Yamask first in your Pokémon party list and trigger an encounter with any wild Pokémon in the area, especially one that can land a super-effective attack on your Yamask, like Nickit, for example. Or any other significantly stronger Pokémon than your Yamask. Once the battle starts, make sure your Yamask takes at least 49 damage without fainting in this one encounter, then, flee from the battle using a Poké Doll to make sure you succeed. Once back in the overworld, DO NOT heal your Yamask; with it damaged and in any position in your party, locate a big stone structure within the Dusty Bowl and simply walk UNDER the stone structure to trigger Yamask’s evolution into Runerigus.

1. Alcremie

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="pokemon.com" url="https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-video-games/pokemon-sword-and-pokemon-shield/" ]

Although Runerigus has weirder ways to evolve compared to Alcremie, this Pokémon takes the lead due to the ridiculous amount of versions you can obtain from this Pokémon. To evolve Alcremie you must have two things on your trainer: a Milcery and a sweet item. Let’s start with getting Milcery from Route 4, you’ll only be able to find this Pokémon by triggering exclamation icons that pop out of the yellow grass while walking on it. Now, …this is where it gets weird…if you don’t already have a sweet item from battling in any of the Pokémon Battle Cafés around Galar, head out to either the Motostoke, Hammerlocke or Wyndon Café. After winning the battle you will be awarded a random food item from a large list, and a sweet item is not always guaranteed. Remember that you can only challenge each Café once a day, so if you’re lucky, you’ll obtain a certain sweet that Milcery will happily hold and spin around with. On the note of spinning, you must make your Milcery hold the sweet item, then you must spin your character until it triggers the victory pose. To do this, just run in very little circles with your character until it locks into the animation of the victory pose. Uhm… weird, right? Yeah… that’s the short version. In reality, Alcremie has 63 alternate forms to choose from… Yeah… You read that right: 63. We’re not going to go through every single form, but we can tell you the gist of it. The sweet items you will need to evolve Milcery are Berry Sweet, Clover Sweet, Flower Sweet, Love Sweet, Ribbon Sweet, Star Sweet or Strawberry Sweet. Each sweet combined with a different time of day, different duration of spinning, different speeds of spinning and a different spin direction will all trigger a different version of Alcremie… That’s… That’s just insane… Right? Let’s just list a few forms to give you an example:

  • Vanilla Cream Hearts topping Alcremie: Hold a Love Sweet then quickly spin clockwise during the day.
  • Mint Cream Blueberry topping Alcremie: Hold a Berry Sweet then spin counter-clockwise for more than 5 seconds during the night.
  • Rainbow Swirl Strawberry topping Alcremie: Hold a Strawberry Sweet then spin counter-clockwise for over 10 seconds at dusk.

Final Thoughts

What do you think about these weird Pokémon evolutions in Pokémon Sword and Shield? Did you find them interesting? Do you want to see any of these special evolution methods again in other Pokémon games? Is Game Freak just overcomplicating the evolution method to annoy Pokédex completionists? Let us know your thoughts on these weird evolution methods using the comment section below!

The 2019 season has come to a close and there have been hundreds of games that have released this year alone! The RPG genre especially has definitely boomed with some amazing games from action RPGs to adventure RPGs. Here at Honey’s Anime we have played a majority of the big games released in 2019 and have painstakingly made a list of our favorites to share with you readers out there! We have made this list our top 5 favorites and hope you guys will agree with our choices as this wasn’t an easy list to create. Now without further ado, here is our list of the Best Role-Playing Games of 2019!

[ad_top2 class="mt40 mb40"]

5. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="HAC-P-AWFSB" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "System/Platform" content1="PS4" item2="Publisher" content2="NIS America" item3="Developer" content3="Falcom" item4="Release Dates" content4="October 22, 2019" post_id="" ][/en]

Finally seeing light in the west, our fifth entry on our Best Role-Playing Games of 2019 is The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. Once more, we return to control Rean Schwarzer as he goes from student to teacher in this third entry of the series. What awaits fans is the return of familiar faces from the series and a new Class VII as they endure new political battles and a strange world-altering event looming in the shadows. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III still shows the perfect marriage of JRPG turn-based gameplay with a truly deep and engrossing narrative only Falcom could produce. We definitely recommend entering the series from the beginning for newcomers so they can eventually play this third entry and catch up before the fourth releases sometime in the future.

4. Kingdom Hearts III

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="PLJM-16164" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "System/Platform" content1="PS4, Xbox One" item2="Publisher" content2="Square Enix" item3="Developer" content3="Square Enix" item4="Release Dates" content4="January 25, 2019" post_id="" ][/en]

Easily one of the most anticipated RPGs, Kingdom Hearts III finally released in late January of 2019 and the wait was certainly worth it. Sora and his friends will once more endure traveling the galaxy entering various worlds to save the various inhabitants from the Darkness and Organization XIII’s nefarious plans but this time, the player has new abilities to make these fights easier! Kingdom Hearts III is easily one of the most gorgeous entries in the franchise and it plays just as well which shouldn’t be surprising for fans. Even newcomers can enjoy Kingdom Hearts III thanks to an extensive history mode that talks of the past games albeit a bit overly simple to ensure players try out the previous games for the full tale. Kingdom Hearts III was—and is—one of the best RPGs to release in 2019 and we can’t wait for the big story DLC coming in early 2020!

3. The Outer Worlds

Do we have enough RPGs set in space? Heck no and that must have been in the minds of developer Obsidian Entertainment’s mind as they created The Outer Worlds. The world—and space—has been changed by an alternative timeline causing space to be filled with megacorporations and that means troubles in the ocean above! Players will need to make their protagonist and like in the Fallout series, level them up to gain new abilities in various traits to help them fight various space-themed threats. The Outer Worlds was a surprise when it was announced a few years back but the final product truly took our breath away leaving us genuinely surprised. If you want a solid RPG that goes into the depths of the stars then look no further, The Outer Worlds has you covered!

2. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="HAC-P-AR3NA" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "System/Platform" content1="Nintendo Switch " item2="Publisher" content2="Nintendo" item3="Developer" content3="GREZZO" item4="Release Dates" content4="September 20, 2019" post_id="" ][/en]

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening has always been one of the best Zelda games in the long-running franchise but this Nintendo Switch remake might surpass even the original. Utilizing new graphics, modern gameplay tweaks and new elements for the series, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is 2019’s best adventure RPG hands down in our minds. Are you ready to tackle Ganon once more? Of course, you are and we recommend doing so in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening!

[sourceLink asin="B07SG15148" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="" url="" ]

1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="PLJM-16322" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "System/Platform" content1="PS4, PC, Xbox One" item2="Publisher" content2="Activision" item3="Developer" content3="From Software" item4="Release Dates" content4="March 22, 2019" post_id="" ][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Compañía" content1="___content1___" item2="Lanzamiento" content2="___content2___" item3="Géneros" content3="___content3___" item4="Plataforma" content4="___content4___" post_id="" ][/es]

The winning game of the year for 2019 should make our last choice for Best Role-Playing Games of 2019 pretty obvious. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is easily one of the best From Software games to ever releasing fusing the toughness of Dark Souls—a series the developers are now famous for—with action-packed gameplay akin to Bloodborne. Sekiro is not only a beautiful action RPG with vibrant landscapes and haunting battlefields but it played just as well testing player’s parry skills and dodging abilities. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is hard as nails but it’s an experience we loved enduring nonetheless. If you somehow missed out on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, now is your time to play it as we enter the new year!

Playable Characters

Shimakaze An up-and-coming rookie that joined the fleet well after Ayanami did. She's quick and a great listener: talents which she utilizes on the battlefield. Unfortunately, she seems to lack a sense of danger, so it's not unusual to find her in unexpected trouble. She is constantly reminded to be careful, which she takes to heart, and is showing growth as she prepares to join the Joint Military Exercise. Of course, many of her seniors get first pick at good opportunities to fight, but she is still seeking to become the MVP along with her partner, Suruga, as she cleverly works her way to bend the rules of the event.

Suruga A brand new member of the Sakura Empire fleet who joined at the same time as Shimakaze. She wants to show that she can handle any work assigned to her. Upon first glance, she seems difficult to approach, but that's only because she's trying to hide her personality issues and her kindness. That said, she is having a hard time getting rid of the stress building within her, and keeps pointing out oddities inside her mind. One day, during an exercise, she ends up partnering with Shimakaze. Little did she know that this would change her fate quite drastically...

Akagi One of the higher ranking members within Sakura Empire who is known to speak her mind freely, even to her leader. She is often found berating others if it helps the cause of the Sakura Empire, and those offended by her do not often speak up as she is very powerful. That said, her words are well-grounded. Coupled with her strength, she is in no short supply of either friend or foe. She planned the Joint Military Exercise, and is, in many ways, causing quite a stir.

Atago A revered member of the Sakura Empire who possesses an unparalleled amount of both charm and maturity. Always calm and gentle, she never fails to have a solution for difficult problems. She's a perfect example of someone you want fighting for you... not against! Although she can become scared quite easily, she hides it well. She partners closely with Takao in her efforts to support the Sakura Empire.

Full-Time Secretary Ship/Battle Support

Ark Royal A long-time member of the Royal Navy's central fleet. She's quite bold but has the power to back it up. She loves small and cute destroyers so much that it makes other Kansen cringe when she expresses her love for them. She takes on the role of supporting the Joint Military Exercise so that the event can be done safely.

Aoba A self-proclaimed journalist, but in reality, just a struggling writer. She gathers headline-worthy news that occurs within the Sakura Empire, and publishes it in a semi-official newspaper for the nation. With all the nations gathered for the Joint Military Exercise, she's running around the place in search of juicy, newsworthy stories to publish. Her first mission... to get an interview with Eagle Union's hero, Enterprise.

With little to no dispute, the action genre is one of anime’s hottest attractions. To many fans, the creativity portrayed in the fighting in Dragon Ball Z is considered the barometer of what makes a great action series. While DBZ defies the imagination in over 9,000 ways, that doesn’t mean that other action titles can’t be just as exciting in their own creative manner. Dragon Ball Z takes fighting all over the place where the aftershocks of fists and shins colliding can cave-in mountains and cause tsunamis. On the other hand, Yuu Yuu Hakusho popularized the use of strategy in its fights showing that action in anime doesn’t have to be destructive in order to be exciting. Since then, a majority of action anime has contributed to the genre in their own way, which either lives up to these two classics or showcases something unique. For this article, we’d like to share our Top 10 Best Action Anime of the 2010s.

10. High School DxD

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="ZMXZ-10071" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="12" item2="Aired" content2=" January 6, 2012 – March 23, 2012" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

If you thought high school was hard, what if your classmates were demons and angels? You can find such a concept in High School DxD. Not only is it high school drama on ethereal steroids, but it offers action sequences that put regular high school fights to shame as various beings duke it out. As the cast demonstrates their abilities, DxD mixes brutal brawling with strategic planning that will keep audiences guessing what will happen next. Not only are the fights intense and dramatic, but they can be comedic as well. So if you want a mix of mech, magic, pure hand-to-hand, and gag humor, then High School DxD is the anime to check out!

9. Kill la Kill

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="ANZX-12651" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="24" item2="Aired" content2="October 4, 2013 – March 28, 2014" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

Like many anime properties throughout the decades, Kill la Kill mixes school uniforms with some insane action. As to how the uniforms are applied, it takes that concept to new levels of creativity with how they can be used as armor (though rather skimpy). With the insane abilities, weapons, and outfits the cast all utilize, it masterfully combines elements of intensity and comedy when appropriate. Through the high-resolution that this series is presented in (along with its excellent use of angles and frame rates), it’s easy for viewers to follow and enjoy.

8. Akame Ga Kill!

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="sentai" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="24" item2="Aired" content2=" July 7, 2014 – December 15, 2014" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

In a world of assassins and espionage, Akame Ga Kill! more than guarantees top-notch action. In old school Kung Fu flicks, a lot of wise masters say that in order to win the fight, the warrior must be free of thought, go with the flow and not let emotions cloud their judgment. For most of the series, Akame embodies that philosophy and when viewers see her in action, she’s pretty much on auto-pilot showing she’s well trained and experienced. Even when some of her opponents try to emotionally manipulate her to make her lose concentration, she rarely falls for it. However, what the fights ultimately teach the audience is what fighting is all about, without something to fight for, it’s meaningless.

7. Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (Parasyte -the maxim-)

[sourceLink asin="B00QTHHY84" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="24" item2="Aired" content2="October 9, 2014 – March 26, 2015" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

After 20 years, the anime adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Kiseijuu finally made its premiere! Kiseijuu is about how a community in Tokyo is being invaded by alien parasites that take over humans and wreak havoc! Before a parasite can possess the mind of high school student Shinichi Izumi, the parasite possesses Shinichi’s right hand and takes the name Migi, meaning “right” in Japanese. As a duo, they fight humans fully possessed by parasites and seek to stop their plans for galactic domination! Compared to a majority of the entries on this list, Parastye focuses more on the blood and guts aspect of the action. Considering the nature of what Migi can do with Shinichi’s arm by turning it into various blade-like weapons, it creates some intense and shocking sequences. As Shinichi’s abilities with Migi develop, he becomes a natural himself and audiences can get a feel of how systematic Shinichi becomes as he fights his foes from when he started with a more feral-like style by letting Migi take care of the fighting.

6. Megalobox

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="viz" url="https://www.viz.com/watch/tv-series/megalobox-season-1-volume-1/product/6006 Viz.com" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="13" item2="Aired" content2=" April 6, 2018 – June 29, 2018" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

Megalobox is a homage to Ashita no Joe, the OG boxing series. Like the original Ashita no Joe, Megalobox not only delivers exciting boxing matches but also portrays the real fight of inequality. Having money is one thing but put two people in the ring, they can be truly equal and this is what Megalobox truly proves. However, boxing in this anime is taken to a whole new level as rounds are unlimited and there are no age limits, weight classes, or drug testing as anyone can fight. To make things crazier, participants wear augmented gear to boost their performance! Joe in Megalobox is the representation of the working class. He comes from nothing and his background gives him not only his raw talent in boxing but his hunger to be the very best (like no one ever was)! Not only does he compete against high-class competition, he does it without the use of augmented gear! Thanks to this quality, it proves that boxing isn’t about who has superior speed, punching power, or money, but who has the bigger heart! As Joe succeeds throughout the tournament, he gives hope and inspiration to his peers. While Joe’s success financially benefits people who have an investment in him, he doesn’t care about fame or money. He’s in it to prove his self-worth and this is more than enough motivation to provide action that isn’t just physical, but emotional as well.

5. Kengan Ashura

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="crunchyroll" url="https://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-1007591/kengan-ashura-anticipation" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="24" item2="Aired" content2=" July 31, 2019 – October 31, 2019" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

For those that love old school underground fighting movies such as Enter the Dragon and Bloodsport, Kengan Ashura is the anime for you! However, Kengan Ashura takes it further as the tournament is meant to benefit the 1%. For example, try to imagine Disney’s acquisition of Fox was through an underground MMA fight as opposed to going through the courts and lawyers and that’s what you get with Kengan Ashura. As for Tokio Ohma representing Kazuo Yamashita, a lowly salaryman, he’s in the tournament to fight an opponent to avenge his master! There’s a saying in combat sports that styles make fights and Kengan Ashura does an excellent job of exploiting that saying in order to provide high-octane action! Like the original UFC events, many of the combatants fight relying on one style. One fighter utilizes boxing, another fighter comes from a sumo background, and one fighter comes from the Burmese art of Lethwei, which is now gaining popularity thanks to Joe Rogan interviewing David Leduc, a Lethwei champion, on his podcast. With billions of dollars at stake within every fight, every punch and kick thrown is with bad intentions for viewers to enjoy. If you want to see the purity of unarmed combat with no ki attacks, then Kengan Ashura is the action anime to watch!

4. One Punch Man

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="BCBA-4961" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="24" item2="Aired" content2=" October 5, 2015 – July 3, 2019" post_id=""][/en]
[es][information_general item1 = "Episodios" content1="___content1___" item2="Emisión" content2="___content2___" post_id=""][/es]

With little to no dispute, One Punch Man is certainly a unique action title where the point of the anime is that Saitama, the main character, is overpowered. While Saitama can easily dispose of opponents as the title suggests, the anime is still full of heroes and villains that can provide viewers with intense action sequences. As emphasized through season 2, Garo, an anti-villain, is challenging other S-class heroes to prove his strength until he challenges Saitama. Garo, who is a martial arts expert, gives many heroes a run for their money and some give him a challenge. Thanks to its large supporting cast, the story can provide action that isn’t about Saitama squashing his opponents in a matter of seconds. With all the action provided in season 2, whenever Saitama gets to fight, it gives his fights more value. When he spars with Genos in season 1, the viewers get an idea of how powerful Saitama is despite restraining himself. Even so, their friendly spar still provides something exciting as Genos, an S-class hero, struggles to land a single throw on Saitama despite putting in 100% and Saitama is fighting at 0.001%! Not only does Saitama’s show restraint in many of his fights extend the intensity, but brings a level of comedy to them.

3. Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)

For the past 30+ years, Shounen Jump has had their share of big hits. In the eighties, they had Saint Seiya and Hokuto no Ken. In the nineties, they had Dragon Ball and Yuu Yuu Hakusho. For the 2000s, they had One Piece and Naruto. For the 2010s, along with the ongoing One Piece and Boruto, that distinction has to go to My Hero Academia. Like One Punch Man, My Hero Academia takes influence from the superhero genre but gives it the appropriate Shounen Jump spin as it focuses on a group of teenagers who go to a high school in order to learn that with great power, there must also come great responsibility. A lot of the cast has traditional superpowers (or known as quirks in the series) such as super strength, speed, laser beams, etc, and there are characters that have some rather creative ones such as creating things from their body. With all these super-powered beings, it's only natural that this anime is full of action. In the first two seasons of this series, a good portion of the action focuses on how Izuku has to manage his quirk, One For All. Every time he uses it in battle, it takes a major toll on his body to the point it repeatedly shatters his bones and causes permanent damage. This quality shows the series has a hero that is going to have development as the series progresses and when it gets there, it’s definitely going to pay off. Through the guidance of his instructors and peers, Izuku eventually learns to use his quirk more effectively and make it his own. When he does (by season 3), it shows that fighting is more mental than physical as a person must learn to fight in their own way and not copy others.

2. Dragon Ball Super

At a close second, we have Dragon Ball Super, which many fans consider to be the true continuation of Dragon Ball Z since Akira Toriyama contributed to this series. Super continues a few years after the battle of Majin Buu and some of its arcs include TV adaptations of the Battle of the Gods and Resurrection of F movies. As we shared in our intro, many fans around the world love Dragon Ball Z because of its creative approach to action. As Dragon Ball Super progresses to its final arc, a lot of Toriyama’s genius is showcased as Goku and his friends battle new threats such as Zamasu. In the end, the series is about how Goku is still not your traditional superhero. He’s not about saving the world and protecting the innocent. While Goku’s fights in Super tend to have the fate of the universe at stake, he cares more about fighting a great opponent which is in his Saiyan blood. With a new series, not only does he get new foes but new transformations! And along with those, it delivers action that breaks new boundaries.

1. Jojo no Kimyou Na Bouken (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

[sourceLink asin="B00JQD953U" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "Episodes" content1="152+" item2="Aired" content2=" October 6, 2012 - Ongoing " post_id=""][/en]

At number one, we have to give it to JoJo. While the JoJo anime series debuted in 2012, the original manga debuted back in 1986 and is still in publication to this day! Upon the drafting of this article, the anime has adapted five of the manga’s story arcs (with the 8th, Jojolion, presently in serialization). Each arc takes place in a different setting with a different cast of characters. Due to this novelty, this series has the creative freedom to not only tell its own story but also choose how it presents its action. The first two story arcs, Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency, are more of a spoof of Hokuto no Ken, which was another popular action title when the original manga debuted. However, those two story arcs still managed to find a distinction through the heroes’ use of hamon, an international martial art that allows the user to manipulate their breathing into the equivalent of sunlight as they battle vampires and other creatures of the night. Through Joseph, the hero of the second story arc, it introduces the strategic element of the series as he could play mind games with his opponents (ie, he would tell his opponent what they would say next and they would actually say it!). As the JoJo saga transitions to its third story arc, or Stardust Crusaders, that’s when the action throws everything including the kitchen sink as it does away with hamon and replaces it with stands—astral projection warriors that only a few people can naturally develop. Through stands and its outrageous cast of heroes and villains, the action of JoJo is like no other as it's one of those things you have to see first-hand in order to enjoy it. Not only does it deliver great action, but one of the most unique soundtracks (considering that the series is full of music and pop culture references)!

Final Thoughts

Last, we would like to make some honorable mentions to Hajime no Ippo: Rising, Vinland Saga, the Netflix Baki series, Shingeki no Kyojin, and Kimetsu no Yaiba. We must admit that choosing anime for this list was by no means easy and if you disagree with our list, we’re cool with that! If you think we overlooked certain titles that should be on this list, just give us a comment. However, if there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that if you want the best action in any form of media, then anime is best at delivering that!

Getting trapped or lost in a video game world has been done excessively in the anime world and yet, we don’t really get tired of it. How intriguing would it be if you found yourself on the opposite side of the monitor, not just staring at the world of dragons/monsters but living in it? Log Horizon—animated by Satelight—did just that with its tale but in a rather unusual way. All of our characters who played a strange MMORPG called Elder Tale found themselves now in the body of their avatars and living within this game as if it were their original world. Why were they sent into the game and is there a way home? These questions aren’t ever fully answered in the two seasons of Log Horizon—we need a third season one day—but the amazing adventures and fights within the series made it a truly amazing isekai series of 2013.

Usually, an isekai series has a pretty simple plot set up. The main character(s) are teleported into a different world and must survive to find a way back home or to save their new land. In Re: Creators, the tables turn. Rather than our main heroes being sent into a game world or manga story, the characters from famous—in-world—series are sent into the real world. Making matters even more perplexing, these heroes/villains all have agendas for our world making them a danger to the normal populous! Re: Creators changed the ideas we’ve come to expect from the isekai genre and we absolutely loved that about the series. If you want a drama-filled action show—with of course isekai themes done quite uniquely—you should definitely check out Re: Creators when you get the chance!

8. No Game No Life

Proving yourself to be an ultimate gamer in the real world can be quite an ordeal but to do it in another world…that seems like an even tougher challenge. Enter the world of Blank, known as expert gamers in the online realm, Blank is actually composed of Shiro and Sora, two siblings who live at home and enjoy a NEET existence. After a chess match that tests the duo’s skills, the siblings are sent into a strange new landscape where the world’s order is kept in balance by playing games and making bets/wagers on the outcome. No Game No Life was a series loved by many, which led it to spawn a prequel movie and plenty of hope that a season 2 will be revealed sometime in the future. Till then, we can always appreciate that Blank’s legacy will never fade from our hearts as they continue to conquer the world with their expert gaming skills.

Imagine for a minute that the fictional worlds we believe to be just that, fictional, are actually in other dimensions we just can’t reach. Now imagine if that fictional realm could be reached just by entering a large gate. Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri tells the tale of Japan’s strange situation when a large gate opens in Ginza, Tokyo and from it, dozens of goblins and strange beasts emerge forth. The JSDF is able to quell the otherworldly invasion and decides to launch a countermeasure by sending in troops—one of which is our main character Youji Itami, who happens to be an otaku—to see the other side of the gate and learn of what threats/resources are within. Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri lasted for two seasons and we loved every single one as it showed the isekai genre can never truly run out of ideas.

6. Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!)

Isekai anime can be quite serious, drama-filled and/or action-heavy at times but Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! is anything but those adjectives. Simplified to KonoSuba, this series has always been about the more comedic aspects of being flung to another world. Our main hero—that title being used lightly—Kazuma Satou is killed in a truly sigh-worthy way and is given the option of being reincarnated to possibly get an even worse life or be sent to an RPG-like world that needs saving from a nasty demon king. Of course, Kazuma goes the route most of us would and chooses to be sent to this new land but he quickly learns that being summoned to a new world doesn’t mean it will be an easy life. KonoSuba throws at the audience constant reminders of how silly the isekai genre can be with constant bashes on the concept from overly ridiculous bosses to quests that seem like busywork. If you need some laughs but also want a truly great isekai series, check out KonoSuba!

VR has certainly been getting better as of the last decade but according to Sword Art Online, 2022 will be the true leap forward. With the birth of a new game called Sword Art Online, fans of MMORPGs will get to live a VRMMORPG experience donning powerful headsets called NerveGear. Unfortunately, those who got a hold on the elusive new game/tech find themselves trapped in the world of Aincrad and forced to make it to level 100 all while possibly dying not just in the game but the real world as well. Sword Art Online certainly has had its mixed reception from fans of the light novels and anime but we can never disregard how important this series was to the popularity of isekai as a whole. An early series called .hack//Sign might have taken the first steps towards the game isekai theme but Sword Art Online completed that adventure and stands as a true testament to how amazing isekai anime can be.

4. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)

In the video game world, there is nothing weaker than the slime monster. If you’ve played games like Dragon Quest, then you know slimes are meant to be used as a tutorial enemy to get players familiar with the game and to farm some early EXP. Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken proves, though, that slimes should not be trifled with! Our main man Satoru Mikami ends up dying protecting his friend from a criminal and is reincarnated in a new fantasy world not as a powerful hero but a seemingly weak/ordinary slime! Satoru quickly comes to learn that his slime body isn’t without powers, though, and begins to prove he’s no ordinary monster but something on a whole new level! As far as isekai series go, Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken needs to be put on a pedestal as it was filled with amazingly animated action scenes and a truly fun adventure that will appeal to gamers/isekai fans alike! Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken needs to be checked out for those who might have missed its isekai awesomeness.

3. Overlord

Our Top 10 Best Isekai Anime of the 2010s has already covered a few series where gamers get trapped in their respected favorite games but one series that always stands out from the rest—in our opinion—is Overlord. Crafted from the popular light novel series, Overlord has truly impressed us with gorgeous art, a wonderful story of intrigue/wonder and some great drama with a dash of comedy for good measure. Overlord has already hit its third season and we doubt the show will be ending anytime soon seeing as there is plenty more to cover! Don’t sleep on Overlord for too long though, if it keeps getting more material it could be a hard series to binge. Trust us, you’re going to end up binging Overlord whether you want to or not once you check it out!

2. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero)

By the late 2010s, isekai anime seemed to hit a roadblock for a moment. What once seemed like a genre filled with potential was now beginning to be littered with a lot of clones of the same type of story over and over again with no end in sight. Thankfully, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari came in and shattered our thoughts that this genre was doomed for mediocrity. Focusing on an isekai story that wasn’t always comedy, melodrama and mindless action, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari instead leaned towards a darker tale as we witnessed a seemingly pathetic hero rise from his corrupted start. We’d love to go into more details about Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari but in truth, this is an isekai series you need to see to believe. Join our Shield Hero and his allies in a truly spectacular isekai that only was outdone by one other show that earned its top slot on our list.

1. Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-)

Whether you fell in love with Emilia or wanted Rem the arguments that surrounded Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Iskekai Seikatsu were numerous and plentiful. This isekai series took everything an isekai was known to be and altered the formula creating a masterpiece for the genre. Our main man Subaru Natsuki was sent to a strange new land and quickly learned that being the protagonist of a new tale isn’t always a good thing. When Subaru dies he learned he could just revive but always in a different “checkpoint” of his current situation where only he retained the memories of what happened before. Dark, sometimes horrifying, and occasionally lighthearted, Re: Zero proved to the world that isekai series truly are a well filled with never-ending concepts and themes!

5. The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan

From the developers of Until Dawn comes the first entry in a series of games called The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan. Based loosely on a true ghost tale, The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan tasks players to keep their controlled characters alive through a series of decisions and actions. At any time, a story specific character could die which, in turn, would alter the faith of all those still alive in the story. The Dark Pictures next title has already been shown and we can’t wait to see our tale shift from a ghost ship to a Silent Hill-like town.

4. Blair Witch

[en][information_general item1 = "System" content1=" Xbox One, PS4, PC" item2="Publisher" content2=" Bloober Team" item3="Developer" content3="Bloober Team" item4="Release Dates" content4="August 30, 2019" post_id="" ][/en]

Maybe the Blair Witch movie wasn’t that great but Bloober Team’s Blair Witch was leaps and bounds more horrifying. Based on the movie series, Blair Witch had players searching for a lost child in the woods famous for having the Blair Witch herself. Using only a flashlight, strange camera and armed with a faithful canine, Blair Witch made sure you knew danger wasn’t always something combatable. Those who want to feel how a found footage game would be like should check out Blair Witch. Just be sure to play with some lights on…

3. A Plague Tale: Innocence

[sourceLink asin="" asin_jp="" cdj_product_id="PLJM-16455" text="" url="" ]
[en][information_general item1 = "System" content1=" PS4, PC, Xbox One" item2="Publisher" content2="Focus Home Interactive" item3="Developer" content3=" Asobo Studio" item4="Release Dates" content4="May 14, 2019" post_id="" ][/en]

The beauty of fear is that it doesn’t always have to come from ghosts, witches and/or goblins. A Plague Tale: Innocence scared players by unleashing plague-infested rats who wished to only feast on human flesh. Players needed to be crafty to avoid the rats and their usual horde set up but often that task was far from simple. We never liked rats before but now after playing A Plague Tale: Innocence, we like them a whole lot less. Time to arm our houses with some mouse traps!

2. Layers of Fear 2

[en][information_general item1 = "System" content1="PC, PS4, Xbox One" item2="Publisher" content2="Gun Media" item3="Developer" content3="Bloober Team" item4="Release Dates" content4="May 28, 2019_" post_id="" ][/en]

Artists have it hard but actors/actresses also have it rough. Just look at Layers of Fear 2 the hit sequel to the original Layers of Fear. In Layers of Fear 2 players enter the mind of a down on his luck actor whose life has been spiraling slowly out of control. As he descends into madness, the world around the player shifts as well going from a cruise ship—a lot of ghost ships in 2019—to a hellish ship layered with pains of the character’s past. Layers of Fear 2 was just as spooky and spine-chilling as the first game which made it a must-play for fans in 2019!

1. Resident Evil 2

Taking our top spot for Best Horror Games of 2019 list is the long-awaited Resident Evil 2 remake. Taking control of either rookie cop Leon Kennedy or college student Claire Redfield, Resident Evil 2 returns fans—and newcomers—back to Raccoon City to survive the horde of undead civilians. Resident Evil 2 was scary when it came out back in the 90s but now in 2019, the horror has been revamped with some truly impressive new designs and realistic graphics using the same engine seen in Resident Evil 7. While the numbers might have gone back down, Resident Evil 2 shows this horror series can reset over and over again to still be one of the best examples of survival horror done right!
